Special Report from Meerut
Health Camp on World Asthma Day: 55 Patients Screened, 8 Diagnosed with Asthma
On the occasion of World Asthma Day, a special health camp was organized in Meerut to raise awareness about asthma and provide early diagnosis and treatment to the public. A large number of people participated in the camp, showing strong community interest in respiratory health.
During the camp, a total of 55 patients were examined by a team of medical professionals. After detailed check-ups, 8 individuals were found to be suffering from asthma symptoms. These patients were immediately given medical advice, prescribed necessary medications, and guided on how to manage their condition effectively.
Doctors present at the camp explained that asthma is a chronic respiratory disease that cannot be completely cured, but it can be well controlled with proper treatment and lifestyle management. They highlighted common triggers such as pollution, dust, smoke, allergies, and sudden weather changes.
The medical team also educated attendees about early warning signs of asthma, including shortness of breath, persistent coughing, wheezing, and chest tightness. People experiencing such symptoms were advised to seek timely medical consultation.
In addition, patients were given demonstrations on the correct use of inhalers and were counseled on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, avoiding smoking, and keeping their surroundings clean to reduce exposure to allergens.
Local residents appreciated the initiative and emphasized the need for such health camps to be organized regularly. Officials assured that more awareness programs and free medical camps will be conducted in the future to promote better public health and early disease detection.
