News:
The Government of India has introduced new measures to manage the supply of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) across the country as global energy disruptions begin to impact fuel availability. Officials announced that the LPG booking cycle for rural households has been extended to 45 days, a step aimed at stabilizing the domestic supply chain and preventing shortages.

The decision comes at a time when international fuel transportation routes are facing disruptions due to geopolitical tensions in several regions. These developments have affected the global shipment of LPG and other energy resources, creating concerns for countries that depend on imports.

According to energy ministry officials, the extended booking cycle will help distribute LPG cylinders more evenly among households and ensure that essential services continue to receive adequate supplies. Restaurants, hospitals, and small businesses that rely heavily on LPG will also receive priority allocation from oil marketing companies.

Experts believe that the move is a temporary precaution designed to maintain stability in the domestic energy market. Meanwhile, the government is closely monitoring supply levels across major cities and rural areas to avoid sudden shortages.

In the long term, India is also focusing on expanding renewable energy capacity and strengthening domestic energy infrastructure to reduce dependence on imported fuel supplies.
