News:
India is stepping up efforts to accelerate electric vehicle (EV) adoption by focusing on rapid expansion of charging infrastructure across major cities and highways. The initiative aims to reduce range anxiety among consumers and encourage wider acceptance of EVs for personal and commercial use.
Under the plan, public and private players are being encouraged to install fast-charging stations at fuel pumps, malls, office complexes, and along national highways. The government believes that a strong charging network is critical to meeting India’s long-term goals of lowering carbon emissions and cutting dependence on imported fossil fuels.
Industry experts say the move will also support domestic EV manufacturers and battery makers, creating new jobs and strengthening India’s clean energy ecosystem. With rising fuel prices and increasing environmental awareness, EV adoption in India is expected to grow steadily in the coming years.
